Plum dumplings recipe with semolina coating
Let’s say hello again to plums. This time, to a easy plum dumplings recipe, from my sweet childhood. With a traditional potatoes dough like my grandma used to do and that delicious semolina coating (I always loved the coating of the plum dumplings - with semolina or bread crumbs, sugar and cinnamon or vanilla). And the hot plums filling….
For the plum dumplings dough , boil potatoes until soft and mash them. When they are cold add flour bit by bit and the egg . Mix well and refrigerate for 1 h.
For the sweet filling, ash 10 plums, cut them in half and remove pits. Whith wet hand take a little bit of dough and coat a half of a plum whith it. You have to get a ball shape.
Bring slighlty salted water to boil and add a tablespoon of butter. Drop the plum dumplings into the boiling water and boil for about 8 - 10 min. Do not crowd dumplings in the pot.
